In the shadow of the night,
we denied Him,
In the shadow of our fear,
He cast Him as far as possible.
We wanted nothing to do with Him,
We were silently in awe of Him,
Yet publicly ashamed of Him,
We did not want our contemporaries to
know about our association with Him.
And despite His knowledge of it all,
He lay down His life for you and I,
A sacrifice marred with shame and rejection,
He loved us so,
We were and are still dear to Him.
What greater love,
Than for a man to lay down his life,
For a friend?
That is our Savior,
Oh how thankful I am,
for the sacrifice he made for me,
For His love for me
