TAKE THE TIME

The war raged on, the bombs were exploding like popcorn. There was no where to hide, no time for sentiments. There was no time to waste for the men in combat or the civilians that were running for dear life.

And yet when he saw him, his heart melted. He took the time to cater to his deep wound and give him a peck of reassurance.

Just like on the battle ground, when the times are heated in your house, the people that get hurt the most, are innocent ones. Do you stop for a second to cater to that bruised soul? Do you stop to see to it that their needs are met? Instead of hurling insults at them because their father or mother has angered you, ensure that the bullets of your arguments do not hit them. If they have, see to their wounds and ensure that they never re-occur.

Happy parenting

  1. Sweet story of a soldier taking the time to care for the wounds that a dog received in combat. Your parenting advice is very nice. Wonderful story! Welcome to the FFfAW challenge. We are happy you have joined us. 🙂

  2. It’s the children that are more vulnerable and less able to deal with their emotions. As parents, we need to keep this in my mind and ensure that we handle our disagreements in a way that shows emotional maturity. Lashing out at the kids or even at the other party won’t solve the problems. I’d say deal with the issues in a loving way. Our kids take a cue from us on handling life’s numerous challenges.

  3. Parenting is truly a skill of balancing. Of soothing frayed nerves and calming turbulent waters. Well said.
