Take it all

As a Christian, I have for a long time loved to quote scriptures that suit my present need, however I have come to learn that many times, we simply quote that portion of scripture that has got a promise for us and leave out the condition bit of that scripture. For example, God tells the Israelites, that if they obey the commandments that God is giving them today, He will bless them. Deuteronomy 28:1-14. However, many of us simply chant away, I am a head and not a tail, above only and not beneath yet we are doing all manner of sin. How do we expect God’s promises to be ours yet we are not living out the condition He has set for us? We need to remember that He says that if we are willing and obedient, we shall eat of the good of the land.

Another scripture that I and many others love is, Phillippians 4:19 And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. However, this scripture does not stand alone, there is a reason as to why Paul was blessing these people that way; they had stood with him in preaching the gospel.

It is my prayer today, that we will learn to take God’s word in its entirety if we want it to work for us. Let us not pick out what pleases us but the whole thing.

Covenant with God today

I hope words such as native doctors or witches/wizards are not new to you. The reason I bring them up today is because, if one is to visit this doctor, they are asked for things such as a white cock, a white goat and the like. This is not forgetting the hefty sum of money that they ask in addition to those hard to get items. The speed with which people get these items to them is so alarming yet most times, such people are so desperate without a cost to waste.

What got me writing about this today is the way many of us react when a pastor or any church leader asks us to contribute towards something at church. We are so quick to call the thieves, con-men and the like. However, many of us love the scripture that says, “And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” We believe that indeed God is willing to meet all our needs, however, there is a catch to it. Paul speaks this blessing to the church of Philipi because they stood with him in many ways, monetary inclusive and he said that their sacrifice was pleasing to God.

Brethren, there is no way you can invest in God and fail. He tells us in Malachi 3:6-9 how we are robbing Him, then He gives us hope in vs.10-12 that if we will stop our vice of theft, He will bless us abundantly and rebuke the devourer on our behalf. So what are we waiting for, let us partner with Him and see our lives change for the better. The devil uses these native doctors as vessels to your destruction and to block your eyes from seeing how wonderful so God is and how much He loves you so you only visit them at your own peril.

His Resurrection Power

As I sit under the instruction of an anointed woman of God, she brings it to my attention that unless I understand the power of resurrection, some scriptures such as 2 Corinthians 5:17, Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come, will never materialize in my life. She also went on to say that for any married woman that does not embrace this power, marriage may never really work out. This was such a disturbing revelation because it seemed that nothing in my life that mattered would follow through. All this was because I was not fully equipped with the knowledge of the above named  subject. However, I was thankful that I had been given an opportunity to learn by revelation other than by tribulation.

Over the days to come, I went on to learn a little more about this power and what Christ stands for and I was amazed at the fact that it was right in my face every other day. Kenneth and Gloria Copeland said that without love for others, regardless of the fact that you are born again, you are still carnal. That immediately got me thinking yet again about what I had been told earlier in the week. It then dawned on me that for me to become a new creation, it is not just about confessing Christ as my Lord and Savior, it is also standing for what He stands for, leaving what He hates and basically walking in His steps.

When He died, all that needed to be killed that was with Him was killed, our iniquities, our infirmities and the like and the power of resurrection brought back for us only salvation. For any married woman that is struggling with a husband who is simply wayward, joining him in his acts is not the answer but standing and walking in the truth is what will change him; 1 Peter 3:1-6. It is therefore my prayer today, that you will allow whatever is in you that is not of Him to die so that there will be room for what is of Him to grow in us. May Romans 12: 2; Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect, guide you through this journey of transformation.

Let those words speak to you

I was chanced to attend a women’s meeting, ‘Prevailing women’s fellowship’, and the message for the day was Resurrection Power. The preacher of the day went on to tell us about this power and to compare our lives as Christians with that of Christ. There are very many resemblances and that got me to remember that He told us that because He has been persecuted we will face the same but encouraged us to be firm because He has overcome the world.

Upon wrapping up, the Pastor’s wife admonished us to personalize the word of God. She went on to say, “let the word of God speak to your circumstances, do not just leave it on the pages of the Bible.” What got my attention the most was the fact that in all the years of my salvation, I had never really personalized a scripture. Then she reiterated the scripture in relation to the subject matter, Phillipians 3:10a; that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection.

It is not everyday that a line or scripture  really hits home, but this one did at the right time. As I await to commemorate the death and resurrection of my Savior, I realize that the very power that raised Him from the dead can raise whatever died in my life as long as it was according to His will.

I pray that as we celebrate Passover, Easter, we may remember that He that raised the dead saints and they were seen in the streets that night can raise up whatever has been dead in our lives today.

My thoughts

My thoughts fail me many times. They are those things that if my Father caught me thinking about, I would be dead. But I thank Him because in as much He already sees my nasty thoughts, He does not throw me out. These thoughts keep me angry. full of hatred, hurt and filled with rage. For a Christian, I know that these are not the thoughts that my Father desires for me to have, they do not glorify Him, they do not show the rest He has given me. But I am resting in His grace, for He that instructed me to bring every thought that exalts itself above the knowledge of Christ to submission will enable me to overcome for there is no instruction He gives without the grace to execute it. He will empower me to forgive and forget. For I know that I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me and I am more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus.  And when the victory is manifested in the physical, when I have finally turned over the page,I will say, Ebenezer, thus far the Lord has brought me.

Insurance= Extortion

What is this thing about Insurance policies and health centers hiking their prices? I was shocked one day when my friend’s child got ill and we rushed to a clinic just to have his blood tested. Once the tests came through and they were positive, the medics there were so fast to supply us with a myriad of drugs, administered some before they would even say a word to us. We had come with the thought that we would get the test done then take the results to a pharmacy and get the pharmacist prescribe the medicine. Wow, these people beat us to our game. We later got to discover that they thought we were insurance patients not cash so they were willing to do anything to milk whatever they could from our supposed insurance policy. To their dismay, we were cash patients but because they could not alter what they had started, they went ahead with their ambiguous bills. Can you imagine, we were being billed for baby anal pain killers, twice if not three times the figure that the pharmacist said they were? I was so angry but the damage was already done.

I simply do not know what sort of extortion this is but I guess it is really widely spread in almost every health center that  caters for patients under an insurance cover. It is like a cancer eating up our health system. We learned our lesson even though we had lost the game.

tr1When you are growing up, dad said that you are his little princess, mummy pecked you on the cheek everyday and told you that you are treasured. When did all that change? When did it cease to matter that you started to treat yourself like you were for sale to the highest bidder? Did daddy say that you were his puppet or his princess? Did mummy say that she wishes she could sell you off or that she treasured you?

Let us not forget that we have people that treasure us that we end up in positions of disgust. I do not know why you do what you do, but one thing I do know is that you would want those that treasured you then to look at you now and be proud of you. Never ever choose the easy way out because it never has the best of results. Take that long trodden road for I believe that the reason many have kept on taking it is because there is real light at the end of the tunnel.

tr2Value yourself, because even if you feel that no one loves you or minds about you, your Creator does even when you do not believe it. Let those childhood words, ‘you are my little princess, I treasure you’ guide you through that tough time because you want to be worthy to those people at the end of the day.
